BFD Configuration in Cisco ACI l3OUT

Assuming L3OUT is configured, We will deploy BFD on it:

Step-1: In the Interface Profile, check “Create BFD Interface Profile”

Once you check the BFD Interface Profile, a pop up will show to select the Interface Policy:

You can select an existing BFD interface Policy or create a new one:

Detection Multiplier	Configures the BFD session parameters for all BFD sessions on the device. The range is from 1 to 50. The default is 3.
Minimum Transit Interval (msec)	The minimum interval time for packets being transmitted. The range is from 50 to 999. The default is 50.
Minimum Receive Interval (msec)	The minimum interval time for packets being received. The range is from 50 to 999. The default is 50.
Echo Receive Interval (msec)	The interval time between echo packets being sent to the BFD neighbor. The range is from 50 to 999. The default is 50.
Echo Admin State	The echo interval administrative state. The BFD echo function sends echo packets from the forwarding engine to the remote BFD neighbor. The BFD neighbor forwards the echo packet back along the same path in order to perform detection; the BFD neighbor does not participate in the actual forwarding of the echo packets. The echo function and the forwarding engine are responsible for the detection process. The state can be:

At this point, BFD is still not enabled on this L3OUT.

Step-2: Under the OSPF interface Profile, select the “Associated OSPF Interface Policy”:

Then, Enabled BFD checkbox under OSPF Interface Policy:
